ASTROLOGY BALLET

"THE ASTROLOGY BALLET" was founded in 2018 in Austin, Texas USA by Raquel Bell and Jared Marshall. The ASTROLOGY BALLET is a dance company that explores the metaphysical in the human body. When you arrive at Pieter you and the other dancers will be lead in an exploration of the zodiac that starts with you and where you exist as an individual in the planetary alignment of our solar system. From there we will explore our relationships to eachother in the zodiac, the effects of the zodiac on our bodies and timelines, the shapes we make and why, and the essence of the power of the planets on our day and on our specific life-time on this planet. The purpose of this workshop is to illuminate how incredibly unique each one of us are in our incarnation on Earth and how we fit into the larger network that has become very relevant in this new age of Aquarius. ABOUT THE COMPANY Greetings, My name is Raquel Bell and I founded the Astrology Ballet with my partner in the Spring of 2018 in Austin, TX USA. I was then a student of choreographer, Deborah Hay, as well as a touring musician. We started the Astrology Ballet in order to discover the way the planets might effect our bodies in a practical way. Our passionate curiosity about the planets within started this work and the Astrology Ballet was born. Since that time we have produced dance films, taught workshops and classes, and performed live multi-media dance events. A dance film was premiered at the Taiwan Internation Convention Center in 2020 and in 2021 we were awarded Artist Of The Year at the Marfa Open Arts Festival in Texas for our production of the Animal Ballet. In addition to exploring astrology in the human body, the company interacts with orignal music and new technology, often incorporating experimental film and video synthesis into the work. www.raquelbell.com Dear Dancer/Human, Ironically I have never know my astrological chart and I never will. I was born at a party in the year 1980. The day and time changes depending on who I ask. Most of my life I wrote off astrology because I thought it didn't apply to me. My partner just happens to be an astrologer and he nearly went crazy when he found out I didn't know my birthday. My work as an artist eventually led me to enroll in a 4 year Mystery School in which I studied the divine feminine and the medicine wheel. It was during this time that I began to unlock what astrology was really about. As a sensitive I could easily detect the effect the planets had on my body and my mood. At first I thought it was just me. The more I learned of Shamanism, the I Ching, Tarot, the Kabbala, ancient Egypt, sacred geometry, the more I realized it wasn't "just me". I was learning secrets of the universe that were hidden in plain sight, in astrology. The knowledge I have gained has unlocked so much joy for me as a person and so much inspiration for me as an artist and dancer that I can't help but share it.
